Magnificent Manny!

Congratulations to the most recent Filipino champion, Manny Pacquiao! Not only did he beat the hell out of Mexican fighter Erik Morales but he was the first boxer to nail the Mexican legend to the floor ever. I think Morales is in a slump nowadays, his career facing a crossroads. He should consider his situation and decide whether to retire or continue fighting. Only he knows what should be done. But I salute to the Mexican not only that he has establish his name in the world of boxing, he also has helped Manny mature in his way of fighting.

But for Manny, what else could I say? To me, he is the only Filipino right now who can unite all of his countrymen. Manny Pacquiao for president? Who knows, he might run in the future. When asked if he has plans to enter politics, he said "no comment." A showbiz answer!

How I wish Manny fights Barrera next. When he crushed the latter in their last encounter, no title was at stake. A fight for the title is assured when the two meet next. Manny can also fight the boxer who last beat Morales before last Sunday's fight (I forgot the name, what I remember is that he fights sissily).

Bring 'em on, Manny!

A new year and a new monitor for me. Hurrah. Lots of things have happened since I last blogged and they aren't fresh anymore and I also don't have the drive to write about them.

Since 2006 has just begun, I am hoping for a fresh start. I'll be aiming to transform my bad traits last year into good ones. This year, I'm going to finish my studies, find a job and try to help in our household expenses.

The Trueno and Levin.

The thought about the rarity of the Trueno in the Philippines disappeared this morning when I boarded a jeepney and rode along University Avenue. Then I saw a strange vehicle, a Toyota, I thought in the beginning but I was unsure of the model. Then I saw the color and it matched the AE85. But when the jeepney passed it, it was a Trueno after all! People are buying that car because of the anime hit, Initial D, and it now sucks when the numbers increase eventually. Should I try the Levin instead of the Trueno?

OMG! I was driving this morning along Don Antonio (near Commonwealth Avenue) and I saw a.. umm.. Toyota Trueno AE86 GT-APEX! I thought that I would never get to see one in this country but my eyes did not fool me this morning. Now for the more bloody part: I want one, too! Unfortunately, the car only exists in Japan and a special shipment is required to obtain one outside Japan. Now my target isn't a VIOS anymore but a Trueno!

The MMDA freaks now have a 10 "ticket" quota everyday! Imagine, 10 times the innumerable blue-uniformed ___holes in the streets equals hell! Now they'll be more violation-thirsty than ever because of the quota enforced by Bayani Fernando. Motorists, watch your back, front and sides for you'll get caught, even your least faults won't be unnoticed.

This sucks because the mentality of the traffic enforcers will shift from implementing the law to fault-finding. So far, I haven't been unlucky because I double check my seatbelt, speed, and avoid swerving.

Peaceful Day

It's the day before I go back to school and I enjoyed this the most during the brief vacation. When I woke up this morning, no one told me what to do, and I took it as a good sign. After hearing the Holy Mass, I just learned that my father attended a gathering somewhere in Quezon City. Hurray! And I hoped that he would be away for the whole day. And he didn't come home until seven in the evening :)

I liked this day because there was totally no tension that surfaced in our home. We did our shares of the chores, relaxed and had fun the whole day. I wished everyday will be like this day, even when my father's at home.
